Epic Games offers free titles through its online store throughout the year, but during the holiday season, they really ramp up their giveaways. In 2023, they provided a total of 17 games for free. The holiday event kicked off with a week-long offering, followed by a daily free game for over two weeks.

December 12 – 19: The Lord Of The Rings: Return To Moria
The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria is a survival and crafting game set after the events of the original novels. Your mission is to reclaim and explore the ever-changing landscape of Moria.
This year’s holiday giveaway kicked off with The Lord Of The Rings: Return To Moria, which you can claim for an entire week instead of the usual 24-hour limit for most games. Last year, it was Destiny 2 that launched the holiday festivities, but this time fans of the franchise can immerse themselves in a Lord of the Rings experience during the holiday season. Plus, it’s a great excuse to revisit the extended editions of the original trilogy while you enjoy your festivities.
Don’t miss out! Return To Moria will be available for free until 11 AM EST on Thursday, December 19, 2024. After that, it will be replaced by the next exciting free game in Epic’s holiday series.
