Critters are found all around in Hello Kitty Island Adventure. Some of these little creatures are tied to quests, like the elusive Rockadoodler. This chicken-like critter can be spotted in Gemstone Mountain and is essential for completing the quest called Rockadoodler Roundup.
Once you finish Rockadoodler Roundup, you will unlock a minigame of the same name that offers various rewards, including Eggs. In this guide, we’ll explore how to complete the Rockadoodler Roundup quest for the first time and where to find wild Rockadoodlers in Gemstone Mountain, which is crucial for the quest.
Requirements For Rockadoodler Roundup
Before you start this quest, you’ll need to reach friendship level eight with Pekkle, who is also located in Gemstone Mountain. Moreover, you must complete the quest Open The Nature Preserve. This quest has its own requirements, including finishing Power Up The Gate and achieving friendship level two with Keroppi.
When you’ve met these requirements, go to Gemstone Town and talk to Pekkle.
How To Start Rockadoodler Roundup
After fulfilling the requirements and chatting with Pekkle, he will guide you to the Corral located to the north (you’ll spot a mailbox right beside it). The quest will officially kick off, and you’ll need to go to the Corral and talk to Pekkle again.
Following your conversation, Pekkle will express his concern about the missing Rockadoodlers, leading you to the task of catching six Rockadoodlers to place in the Corral.
The minigame itself features 15 Rockadoodlers, but you only need to catch six.
How To Find Rockadoodlers
Finding Rockadoodlers can be tricky if you don’t know where to search. They are fairly quick and easily frightened. To help with this, there are some strategies:
- Use a Speedy Walking Potion
- Activate Keroppi’s Critter Friend ability
- This lowers the chance of critters running away.
However, you don’t have to rely on these methods to catch a Rockadoodler. Here at TheGamer, we managed to catch six without using Keroppi or potions.
Where Are Rockadoodlers?
For the Rockadoodler Roundup quest, we recommend focusing your search for Rockadoodlers around Gemstone Town. We found Rockadoodlers behind the crafting table, south of the Dance Hall (at the bottom of the wooden ramp), and to the right of the Soda Machine area.
We walked between these spots until we encountered Rockadoodlers. It took a few passes, but we eventually found six this way. Keep in mind that Rockadoodlers can show up even before you accept this quest, so you can catch them ahead of time. They will also continue to roam after the quest is done.
Rockadoodlers are only available during the daytime. If it’s night, find a bed and sleep until morning.
How To Complete Rockadoodler Roundup
After you have caught six Rockadoodlers, return to Pekkle and give them to him. When you select the Rockadoodlers from the gifting menu, you’ll give all six at once. Continue talking to Pekkle, check out the Corral, and the quest will be complete!
Upon completing the quest, Pekkle will reward you with a Game Ticket, which you can use to play Rockadoodler Roundup.
What Is The Rockadoodler Roundup Minigame?
The Rockadoodler Roundup minigame is an easy game where your goal is to catch as many Rockadoodlers as you can. Fifteen of these critters will scatter throughout the area, bounded by the rocky cliffs outlined on the map. If you run out of the designated area during this minigame, it will come to an end.
Once you catch a Rockadoodler, it will automatically be placed in the Corral; you don’t have to run back to drop it off.
This minigame is the exclusive way to obtain Eggs in Hello Kitty Island Adventure! Eggs can be used at cooking stations across the island, including the Egg Pan Station, which is also located near the Corral where this minigame takes place.
If you catch six or fewer Rockadoodlers within the 60-second time limit, you’ll receive three Eggs. Catching between seven and 14 will earn you five Eggs. So, if you want to put in minimal effort and have plenty of tickets, you can catch a few in two separate sessions for a total of six Eggs rather than five from a single session.
