A sequel to the 2025 open-world sandbox game for PS5 is on the way, which is unexpected given the mixed reviews the original received. Wreckreation 2 will follow the 2025 arcade racing game that didn’t quite hit the mark with players and critics alike.
The new installment is being developed by When Tides Turn, a studio founded by Fiona Sperry, formerly of Criterion Games. This marks a change, as the original game was created by Three Fields Entertainment and published by THQ Nordic.
While no specific release date or window has been announced for Wreckreation 2, an official trailer has been released—watch it below:
Fiona Sperry explained in a press release, “Over the past six months, we’ve been directly engaging with players to understand what they want from a modern arcade driving game. Wreckreation 2 is the result of those conversations. From handling and progression to events and world design, our community has helped shape key parts of this game. We’re building this together with the players, not just for them.”
