Samsung Announces One UI 6.1.1 Compatibility and New AI Features

September 6, 2023 — Samsung has officially released information regarding the compatible devices for its latest One UI 6.1.1 update, which was shared in a blog post yesterday, September 5. The tech giant promised to introduce its cutting-edge Galaxy AI features to users worldwide.

The list of devices that will support One UI 6.1.1 includes:

  • Galaxy S23 FE
  • Galaxy S23
  • Galaxy S23+
  • Galaxy S23 Ultra
  • Galaxy S24
  • Galaxy S24+
  • Galaxy S24 Ultra
  • Galaxy Tab S9
  • Galaxy Tab S9+
  • Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra
  • Galaxy Z Fold5
  • Galaxy Z Flip5

Earlier this year, during the Galaxy Unpacked event held in July, Samsung revealed new devices, including the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6, both equipped with the Android 14-based One UI 6.1.1 update.

In the announcement, Samsung confirmed that the rollout of One UI 6.1.1 will begin with the South Korean version of the Galaxy S24 series on September 5, with the European and U.S. versions following on September 9. In the coming weeks, users in China, along with other Galaxy device owners, can also expect to receive the update.

The company emphasized its commitment to inviting more users to experience the new Galaxy AI capabilities, which include a feature called “Sketch to Image.” This innovative tool allows users to sketch on their devices using the S-Pen or their fingers, and then Galaxy AI utilizes artificial intelligence and machine learning to generate graphic elements that harmonize with the surrounding images or backgrounds.

For instance, if a user draws a microphone next to a cat, the system can transform the hand-drawn microphone into a realistic-looking item that matches the image’s style, essentially making it appear as though the cat is truly holding a microphone and singing.

Another notable feature of Samsung’s Galaxy AI is the “Portrait Studio,” which enables users to convert portrait photos into various artistic styles, such as 3D cartoons or watercolor paintings.

As more users look forward to experiencing these new features, Samsung continues to enhance its device offerings and user interface, setting the stage for innovative developments in the mobile technology space.
