KARACHI – Pakistani actress Ayesha Afridi has captured attention in the country with her outstanding performances in dramas like Dil-e-Bereham, Qayamat, Baddua, and Dil-e-Gumshuda among others in recent years.
However, her last name, Afridi, has sparked discussions on social media about a possible connection to the famous cricketer Shahid Afridi. Some users are making claims without any solid proof that she is related to the former sports star.
As the conversation intensified online, the Belapur Ki Dayan actress decided to address the speculation. She appeared on a TV show for an interview where host Ayaz Samo inquired about any ties to Shahid Afridi.
Ayesha responded, “I have no relation to Shahid Afridi. Whenever I meet people, they often ask me the same thing. Even on social media, people leave comments asking if I’m related to Afridi. I always tell them that I am not a relative of Shahid Afridi. I am just Ayesha Afridi.”
When asked about her family’s involvement in the entertainment industry, she mentioned that none of her relatives work in that field. “I had to work hard to convince my family to accept my career choice since we come from a Pathan background.”
