Lahore – Pakistani YouTuber Rajab Butt’s wedding and subsequent arrest made headlines over the weekend, sparking various narratives following surprising revelations.
The popular social media influencer was taken into custody for illegally keeping a lion cub and possessing an unlicensed firearm at his home. His arrest came despite the fact that Butt had applied for permits for both the animal and the weapon.
Malik Zaman Naseeb, a close friend of Rajab who posted his bail, shared alarming details about the situation. He indicated that the arrest followed a tip-off from someone close to Butt regarding the firearm and the lion cub.
Even though Butt took the necessary legal steps regarding the ownership of the cub and the gun, local authorities proceeded with the arrest under pressure from higher-ups, according to Malik Zeeshan. He also mentioned that the individual who reported Butt was identified but ultimately not charged.
Rajab Butt was released on bail the next day, but the event raised concerns about those around him and the actions taken by local law enforcement.
