Adele Announces Indefinite Hiatus From Music Career

Los Angeles: Acclaimed artist Adele has made the decision to step away from performing for a while.

During a recent concert in Munich, the singer of the hit song ‘Skyfall’ revealed this news to her audience, according to a report by Fox News.

“I have ten shows left, but after that, it will be a considerable amount of time before I see you again. You will always hold a special place in my heart,” she shared with her fans.

Videos from her performance have surfaced online, showcasing Adele discussing her upcoming break. Many of her devoted followers were visibly upset by the announcement.

In response to her plans, one user on X remarked, “We can’t wait for your grand return, Adele.”

Another fan expressed, “Experiencing Adele live is the ultimate dream for me. I’ll be waiting for you, queen, no matter how long it takes.”

Adele has been entertaining audiences with her Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum Theater in Caesars Palace since November 2022.

She first unveiled this residency in 2021, only to surprise and disappoint fans a few months later with a complete postponement of her tour. In an emotional video, the artist behind “Rolling in the Deep” explained that the quality of her show did not meet her standards and that both she and her team needed more time to prepare.

Her final performances of this residency are scheduled to take place from October 25 to November 23 of this year.

Earlier this year, Adele opened up about her battle with the challenges that come with fame.

During a concert in February, she addressed viral photos of herself taken at an NBA game where she appeared upset. She clarified that her apparent dissatisfaction stemmed from being filmed without consent and expressed her discomfort with fame itself.

“Do you remember that viral meme where I looked like I didn’t care at all?” she asked the crowd, referencing the images captured during the 2022 NBA All-Star Game. She even mimicked the facial expression shown in those now-famous photos.

Adele explained that she had mixed feelings about being filmed at the event, ultimately finding herself on camera regardless.

“The reason I appeared to have filler in my lips—which I don’t need, as mine are naturally full—was because I was sulking. I was frustrated that people were recording me without my permission,” she shared, as captured by fan-recorded footage.

She further added, “I had no idea they were broadcasting it live; I thought it was just for those in the venue.”

Adele last released an album in 2021, titled ’30.’
