Due to changes in Whatsapp policies, which has raised privacy concerns, Elon Musk’s richest person is suggesting people switch towards a messenger app called Signal to replace Whatsapp and Facebook.
The CEO of Tesla Musk requested people to switch towards other encrypted apps than Facebook and Whatsapp. When he was asked about the safer alternative by his followers, he especially suggested using Signal.

On Wednesday, new terms were given by Whatsapp, which uses signals encryption technology. Those terms asked the users to agree to let owner Facebook Inc and its subsidiary to collect user data, which includes the location and phone number of the users.
Some privacy activists questioned the “accept our data to grab or get out” move on Twitter. He advised the users to use apps like Signal and Telegram instead of Whatsapp.
On Thursday, The popularity of the Signal app further increased after Elon Musk suggested to use it. Elon has many followers on his Twitter account and by the microblogging sites top boss Jack Dorsey.
In the last two days, more than 100,000 people have installed Signal through Apple and Google’s app stores. According to data analytics firm sensor tower, Telegram messenger gained nearly 2.2 million downloads.
In the first seven days of 2021, the new installs of Whatsapp decreased to 11 percent. However, still, sensor tower stated that compared to the prior week, it still amounted to almost 10.5 million downloads worldwide.
