Apple’s MacBooks have been pretty consistent over the years, even as the company ditched the ‘wedge’ design of the MacBook Air. But now, industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says that the MacBook is about to enter a whole new territory: Apple is planning to make a foldable MacBook.

Kuo revealed this in a post on Twitter/X, where he talked about Apple’s current development plans. He was responding to people who were wondering if Apple would make a foldable iPhone or iPad – rumors that have been around for a while, with the iPad being the most likely option.

But Kuo surprised everyone by saying that “Apple’s only foldable product with a clear development schedule is the 20.3-inch MacBook.”

That’s not the most shocking part, though. A leaked roadmap of OLED Apple devices from 2023 (shared by tipster @Tech_Reve) showed us that Apple is already working on a foldable device of that size. But that device was supposed to be an iPad Pro that would come out in 2026, not a MacBook laptop.

This could mean that Apple is not only making its first foldable device but also its first touchscreen MacBook. That would be a huge change for the MacBook, which has never had a touchscreen before.
