Final Fantasy XIV Patch 7.15: Hildibrand’s New Adventure
The latest update for Final Fantasy XIV, patch 7.15, has officially launched, introducing players to a brand-new Hildibrand adventure titled "The Case of the Displaced Inspector." Since his debut in version 2.1, Hildibrand has captured the hearts of players and become a fan favorite. Originally introduced as a lighthearted series of sidequests to bridge the main storyline with the Heavensward expansion, Hildibrand Manderville and his quirky escapades have since become integral to the game’s lore, even featuring in the Relic questline during the last expansion, Endwalker.
Hildibrand’s sidequests are known for their whimsical narratives, exaggerated action scenes, and endearingly silly characters. This style remains unchanged, even in the post-Dawntrail patch era. Hildibrand and his family are now firmly rooted in FFXIV‘s narrative, and players eagerly anticipate new content featuring the lovable detective with every patch. Hildibrand Quests: Requirements
To initiate the new Hildibrand storyline in patch 7.15, you must meet the following requirements:
- Disciple of War or Magic Level 100
- Completed the Main Story Quest "Dawntrail"
- Finished the Previous Hildibrand Sidequest "Gentlemen at Heart"
To put it simply, you need to have maxed out at least one job to level 100 to access this new quest. You can be leveling a new class from Dawntrail, like Pictomancer, or you can stick with classic favorites like Warrior or Black Mage. Just ensure you’re equipped for combat, as Disciples of the Hand or Land won’t qualify. If you have a level 100 job but are unable to start the quest, make sure you have the appropriate main weapon equipped.
Next, ensure that you have completed the main storyline leading through "Dawntrail," meaning you need to have wrapped up the entire Dawntrail MSQ. You should also see "To be continued" in your MSQ prompt in the top left corner of your screen.
Lastly, you must complete the preceding Hildibrand quest, "Gentlemen at Heart," before you can embark on "The Case of the Displaced Inspector." To begin this quest, chat with Godbert in Thavnair, located at coordinates X:22 Y:34. Keep in mind that you might need to go back to "The Sleeping Gentleman" in Radz-at-Han, which is part of the Endwalker Hildibrand series. For this quest, you’ll need to have completed everything through the finale of Endwalker and speak with the Excitable Youth at X:11.8 Y:11.2.
