Renowned tabla master and composer Ustad Zakir Hussain has passed away at the age of 73.
He was the son of the iconic musician Ustad Alla Rakha and had been receiving treatment at a hospital in San Francisco, California.
Sources indicate that Ustad Zakir Hussain was admitted to the hospital a week prior due to heart issues and was in the ICU.
Prominent flutist Rakesh Chaurasia shared with PTI that Ustad Zakir Hussain had been dealing with problems related to blood pressure and heart health.
