Fantasian Neo Dimension offers a diverse range of party members to experience, but Ez stands out as one of the most intriguing. He is recruited after a brief display of unsportsmanlike conduct in the coliseum, demonstrating right away that he plays by his own rules.
What sets Ez apart from the other characters is that he doesn’t rely on MP. Instead, he utilizes items that you collect to unleash his powerful abilities. Choosing the right items and knowing when to use them presents one of the biggest challenges in mastering Ez.
Ez’s Role in Combat
Before acquiring Ez, you’ll have a pretty standard lineup. With Leo as a versatile character, Cheryl and Kina providing magical offense and defense, and Zinikr acting as a tank, your initial party covers all bases. Ez resembles a machinist, a playstyle that’s quite rare because of its unique nature.
While Ez has an MP meter, it actually serves to distribute to other characters. All of his abilities are executed using crafting materials. This means the range of his skills is almost limitless, depending on what you have in your inventory, without the need to replenish MP during battles.
Additionally, Ez is not impacted by the Seal status effect.
However, this utility comes at a cost; Ez has minimal physical prowess. He possesses low attack power, average defense, and decent HP. His weapon can pierce an enemy, but this should only be taken as a last-resort tactic rather than a primary means of offense.
Ez truly shines as a support character. He can heal, boost your team’s attack and defense, and even increase speed. His grenades are particularly effective, delivering a consistent amount of damage no matter how strong an enemy is or how weak his attack gets.
Ez’s Skills
Given Ez’s unique mechanics, he doesn’t unlock any moves that require MP; instead, he gains new crafting tools. While many of his skills become available through the Growth Map in Act 2, we’ve compiled a list of abilities you will definitely unlock as you level up.

The majority of these skills revolve around his various bombs and grenades, allowing him to deal a consistent amount of damage regardless of his current stats. While this can be advantageous against enemies lacking elemental weaknesses, it is particularly useful for targeting foes in a wide area as opposed to just one line.
Notably, Ez’s Attack and Guard Up abilities are crucial since they eliminate the need to use enhancement items one at a time, incurring very little cost. Through the Growth Map later on, you can also acquire a Quick All skill, which is extremely beneficial.
Ez’s Growth Map
Once you enter Act 2, your party will be separated until Leo retrieves them. Although you can rescue them in any order, it is best to acquire Ez first, as the skills available on his Growth Map are incredibly potent, many offering completely unique effects.
Ez’s Divine Artifact, which enables the Growth Map, also grants him the Item Saver passive skill, providing a random chance to avoid consuming items when using his skills.
Initially, focus on unlocking his Jewel Slot + and Infinite Loop Tension skills. The former allows you to equip two skills, which is always beneficial. The Tension skill is particularly unique, as it doesn’t function as a typical attack skill like it does for other characters.
Rather, Infinite Loop allows Ez to effectively stop time, enabling him to take multiple consecutive turns before anyone else can act. This is an incredibly powerful ability for buffing the entire team and preparing strong attacks. You can also upgrade this skill for even more turns. It stands as one of the strongest Tension skills in the game.
In addition to Infinite Loop, consider pursuing the following valuable skills:
- Quick All
- All Potion L
- Vacuum, which gathers enemies together, allowing piercing attacks to hit multiple foes.
- Half MP, enabling the recipient to use abilities for half the MP cost, particularly useful for Leo’s Samidare skill.
Ez can also unlock Steal through the Growth Map, making him one of the few characters with that option. He has many other powerful abilities, such as Bounce Field, but those listed above are some of the best to focus on early in the game.
