Honor has a knack for crafting eye-catching smartphones, and the latest addition to its lineup, the Honor 300 series, certainly holds true to form. With an unconventional camera module and an artistic rear panel design, it makes an immediate impression. This uniqueness is further enhanced by a vibrant palette of colors, along with the impressively sleek profile of one of its models. Recently unveiled in China, the series includes three models: the standard Honor 300, the Honor 300 Pro, and the Honor 300 Ultra. While an international release date is yet to be confirmed, Honor has a track record of making its “number” series available beyond China, as seen with the early arrival of the Honor 200 in the U.K. this year.
Measuring in at just 6.97mm thick, the Honor 300 ranks among the thinnest smartphones in recent memory. For some comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S24 is 7.6mm thick and Apple’s iPhone 16 comes in at 7.8mm. Thus, the slim profile of the Honor 300 is quite noticeable. However, it’s worth mentioning that it’s not the thinnest phone on the market, with several manufacturers having previously produced devices measuring under 5mm, including the remarkable 4.75mm Vivo X5 Max from 2014.
The Honor 300 Pro and Honor 300 Ultra have a bit more heft, coming in at 8.2mm thick and weighing 199 grams, but all three models exhibit that distinctive camera module design. The module features a rounded shape that flows around the lenses, making it a striking visual element, even alongside the various textures and colors of the rear panels. Opt for the Honor 300 Ultra for a textured leather back, or enjoy the vibrant purple and green options available for the glass-backed Honor 300 and 300 Pro.
Each model has its unique specifications. The Honor 300 features a 6.7-inch AMOLED display, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor, and it houses a 5,300mAh battery capable of 100W fast charging. There’s also a 50-megapixel main camera alongside a 12MP wide-angle lens integrated into the rear module. Conversely, both the Honor 300 Pro and Honor 300 Ultra boast a larger 6.78-inch AMOLED display and are equipped with the more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. They retain the same 5,300mAh battery and also boast an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance. The main camera setup—including the 50MP and 12MP lenses—is consistent across these models. However, the Pro model adds a 50MP telephoto lens with 3x optical and 50x digital zoom, while the Ultra steps it up with a 50MP periscope lens offering 3.8x optical and 100x digital zoom.
Currently, all three Honor 300 smartphones are available in China, with prices starting around the equivalent of $470. Fans worldwide will be eager to see if Honor rolls out this series internationally in the near future.
