In Destiny 2, like in all raids, there are two secret chests hidden in the Garden of Salvation. The first one is located right after you complete the initial encounter, and the second is found just before the final boss fight. These chests are crucial because they are the only source of Raid Mods, such as the powerful Enhanced Relay Defender, which can make a significant difference in speedruns or solo challenges.
You need to loot each chest at least once to complete the Secret Garden triumph for the Enlightened seal. Keep in mind that these chests will only provide items you already obtained during raid encounters, so relying on them alone to complete your Collections won’t work.
Secret Chests in the Garden of Salvation
With the recent changes, the Garden of Salvation is the second raid that has received a refresh in its perk pool, including new Origin Traits for all its weapons. Moreover, all weapons from this raid are now craftable.
After the perk refresh, Bungie announced that the hidden chests in the Garden of Salvation raid can now also drop weapons. So, if crafting isn’t your style, these chests offer good opportunities to snag your preferred weapon rolls. Remember, though, these chests will only provide random rolls of weapons you’ve already discovered in the encounters.
Chest Location 1
Right after defeating the first encounter where you pursue the Consecrated Mind, jump down into a significant hole. This area divides into two paths—stick to the left side until you find a stone platform.
Continue along a large tree root until you spot an elevator in the distance. Right next to it is a small opening in the wall on your left, which contains the first hidden chest. If you’re unsure about jumping directly, you can use the elevator first before making the leap.
Chest Location 2
The second hidden chest is accessible after defeating the third encounter. If you reach the Sanctified Mind, you’ve gone too far, so be sure not to get pulled ahead by your team! From the third encounter location, make your way toward the Boundless Horizon.
Soon, you will come across a structure resembling a Vex windmill. You’ll need to hop onto one of its blades, stand at the edge, and ride it to the top. Once there, you’ll find yourself in a spacious area filled with statues, trees, and waterfalls. Stay to the right and keep climbing up the hill until you see two openings in a large tree.
Though this isn’t the official route, most players opt for this method since it’s faster. Enter through the opening on the left, scale upwards, and you’ll spot the second hidden chest tucked away in the corner.
Once you open this chest, gather your rewards, complete the last two Divinity puzzles, and prepare to face the Sanctified Mind.
