How to Fix Your Reputation in Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl

If you haven’t played the earlier installments, you might be surprised to discover the strong immersive sim traits within Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl. In many respects, it resembles a more challenging version of Fallout rather than a straightforward first-person shooter, filled with numerous items to collect, quests to undertake, and characters to engage with. One of the more subtle features is the reputation system. While Stalker 2 allows you to unleash gunfire at any target you choose, such actions will have repercussions. If you offend a particular faction, expect to find yourself pursued by them until you make amends. With plenty of threats lurking in the game, if you’ve unintentionally angered a group and want to regain their favor, here’s how to mend your reputation.

How to restore your reputation in Stalker 2

Stalker 2, you’ll be automatically marked for elimination by them if your reputation dips low enough. Fortunately, there are ways to earn back their trust, although you’ve only got two options.

The easiest method is the slower option. As long as you refrain from attacking that faction and keep a safe distance to avoid confrontation, they will eventually forget the incident and forgive you with time. You can expedite this by finding a bed and resting for a few days. While they won’t shoot you on sight anymore, full forgiveness may take longer to achieve.

If you prefer a quicker resolution, head to the area where a leader of that faction is located and speak with them. Entering a major town won’t put you at risk of being attacked, so you can approach without concern. Once you find a leader (there may be several), you will need to negotiate what you’ll give up to earn your forgiveness. Whether you choose to pay in resources or time is up to you, but one of these payments is necessary if you wish to continue your relationship with that faction.
