OpenAI announced on November 8 that its ChatGPT AI chatbot service experienced a temporary outage. The company confirmed that they identified the root cause of the issue and have since resolved it.
According to reports, the outage occurred between 4:06 PM and 4:30 PM Pacific Time (which translates to 8:06 AM to 8:30 AM Beijing Time on November 9). During this period, users were unable to access the ChatGPT service.
By 8:34 AM Beijing Time, OpenAI reported that access had been restored for most users, although a few individuals continued to experience issues until just before 9 AM. The company is working to ensure that all users can access the service without any further disruptions.
