How to Transmog Equipment in Dragon Age: The Veilguard for Optimal Customization

Bioware

In Dragon Age: The Veilguard, your character has an impressive variety of gear and outfits to choose from, making it a tough decision when it comes to equipping your Rook for adventures and battles. While sometimes style takes precedence over practicality, the game offers a transmog feature that ensures you can have the best of both worlds.

Transmogrification (or transmog for short) allows players to alter the appearance of their equipment while retaining the beneficial stats from their gear. This feature enables your Rook to tackle quests and face foes while looking their best. For those eager to dive straight into the action, here’s a guide on how to utilize the transmog system smoothly in Dragon Age: The Veilguard.

How to Use Transmog in Dragon Age: The Veilguard

After you’ve invested some time into character creation, selecting your class, and completing the introductory segment of Dragon Age: The Veilguard, you can access the transmog feature via the Wardrobe located in the Lighthouse. Don’t worry; you won’t have to wait long after the initial title screen to unlock this functionality.

Step 1: As you begin your adventure with Varric in the Lighthouse, approach the Wardrobe to interact with it. The Lighthouse serves as your main hub, where you’ll frequently return during your journey. There are multiple wardrobes in this location, but your first one will be in the infirmary where Varric is recuperating. The next will eventually be found in your personal quarters.

Step 2: After you’ve selected the outfit you want to sport, independent of the gear you currently have equipped, you’ll have the option to toggle the appearance of the transmog on and off even when you are away from the Wardrobe. Simply navigate to your character menu and click on the small button adjacent to your equipment. It should have a cross-through, indicating that selecting it will activate or deactivate the Wardrobe’s appearance settings.

Additionally, you can hide specific pieces of your gear without needing to return to the Wardrobe. For instance, if you want to wear a helmet for its stats but prefer not to see it on your character, you can easily disable its appearance. The transmog system encompasses not just clothing but also weapons. After about a few hours of gameplay, you’ll be able to return to the Lighthouse via fast travel, making the transmog feature readily accessible at any time.

Aside from the Wardrobe, a Mirror can also be found in the vicinity. This Mirror will allow you to revisit character creation to adjust your Rook’s visual features. While you won’t be able to change your class, you can edit elements such as your face, body type, hair, and more to customize your Rook’s appearance.
