You can obtain David Martinez’s jacket in Cyberpunk 2077, which is a special reference to the Edgerunners anime series. To unlock the jacket, you need to advance enough in the main storyline to access the Watson district of Night City. Once your character, V, has access to this area, you can immediately begin your quest to find David’s jacket.
Before you can claim the jacket, it’s essential to complete the Life Path introduction associated with V’s chosen background. This will allow you to wake up in the Watson District, the initial and largest area available for exploration in Cyberpunk 2077. Within this district, you’ll encounter a side quest relating to David’s jacket, but only after you find a Braindance in the vicinity.
Finding the Edgerunners Braindance
Locate the Unique Crossover Braindance
To discover the Edgerunners Braindance, make your way to Megabuilding H4, situated in the Arroyo area of Night City’s Santo Domingo district. At this stage in the game, you may not have access to a vehicle parked in your garage. If you’ve unlocked some fast travel points, getting to the Megabuilding should be relatively straightforward, although you might need to walk there.
Upon arriving at Megabuilding H4, look for a narrow alley that features a distinctive trashcan. This trashcan will bear a Neon symbol identical to the one found on David’s jacket from the series. Inside that trashcan, you’ll find a Braindance (BD), a device that connects to V’s neural interfaces to play a video.
If you’re having difficulty pinpointing the building with the Braindance, it will be marked on your map as a Side Gig named “Over the Edge.” Completing this quest will guide you toward finding David’s jacket after you watch the Braindance. Thankfully, finishing this side quest is quick since all you need to do is view the BD and send a few text messages.

The “Over the Edge” Side Gig in Cyberpunk 2077 takes off once you watch the Edgerunners Braindance. Engaging with the Braindance will prompt a short clip from the Edgerunners anime, along with a warning not to follow in David’s footsteps. After exiting the BD, feel free to text Muamar “El Capitan” Reyes, the fixer in Santo Domingo.

After 24 hours of texting Reyes about a meeting, a character named Falco will reach out to ask why you are pursuing David. Engage in the conversation, and Falco will inform you that David’s crew has gone off the grid, attempting to dissuade you from continuing your search. However, for your determination, Falco has arranged for something to be left with Muamar that V can collect.
Head over to the Badlands Dam to meet with Muamar, and you will find him along the dam wall. You don’t need to speak with him—just make your way to the dam wall where an unopened container will be visible. Looting this container will reward you with David’s jacket, achieving the completion of the “Over the Edge” Side Gig and earning you the crossover gear.
