The GTA Online Halloween 2024 event is in full swing, and it’s packed with spooky activities across Los Santos and Blaine County that are sure to give you chills. Players can unlock various costumes and masks simply by logging in weekly or completing special challenges. There’s also a range of eerie happenings, such as ghost photography, chilling stalker confrontations, and mysterious UFOs soaring through the night sky. If you want to know all the details about the 2024 GTA Online Halloween festivities, here’s a summary of what to expect.
When does the GTA Online Halloween 2024 event start?
The GTA Online Halloween event kicked off on October 3 and offers a “month-long spooky celebration,” which suggests it will continue into early November. This is further supported by hints about the event concluding with “close encounters of a totally different kind,” referring to the UFO abduction moments scheduled between October 31 and November 3. This means there’s ample opportunity to earn rewards and grab other spooky items introduced this month, and all collectibles will remain available in GTA Online.
Players can finally explore North Yankton
For the first time, players can head back to North Yankton as part of the Halloween event in GTA Online. You’ll find yourself in the Ludendorff Cemetery, where you’ll team up with up to three other players to fend off waves of the undead in this limited-time survival challenge.
Earn free masks just by playing
Throughout the Halloween event, players can earn different masks for free each week. Currently available is the Brown Creepy Cat Mask, along with the Maritime Calaca Mask and Royal Calaca Mask in honor of Día de Muertos. When wearing many of these masks, you can access the Style section in the Interaction Menu and switch your Action to ‘Mask Audio’ for a spooky sound effect at your fingertips.
UFOs have returned for Halloween
You’ve been warned to “escape the clutches of the extraterrestrial” this Halloween season, and if you’ve noticed unusual things in the sky, it’s likely one of the GTA Online UFOs. There’s a variety of alien ships appearing during the Halloween event, and players can earn cash and rewards by capturing photos of them to send to Omega. If you manage to photograph enough of these UFOs, you might experience a grand finale that includes a UFO invasion over Los Santos and a high chance of being abducted!
Capture ghosts for spooky rewards
During the Halloween event, expect an email from GTA Online Ghosts Exposed encouraging you to collect photographic evidence of spirits around Los Santos. Find all ten ghosts—which includes a familiar face from extreme sports—and you’ll unlock an exclusive livery for the Albany Brigham vehicle, plus a matching outfit to recreate your own Ghostbusters scene.
Halloween Horrors are back
The infamous GTA Online Slashers return for this event, so keep your guard up while navigating Southern San Andreas. Be alert for random encounters, as you could face off against Slashers, Clowns, Psychos, and even a sinister clone of your own character!
Jack O’ Lanterns are yet to return this Halloween
It seems that Rockstar is cutting it close this year, as at the time of this writing, the 200 Jack O’ Lanterns from GTA Online have not yet appeared across Los Santos and Blaine County. Last year, they made their comeback in the final week of the Halloween event, so there’s still hope. If they return, players will need to collect 10 daily to earn a bonus of GTA$50,000 while bracing for random Trick or Treat surprises with each Pumpkin collected. A special bonus item might be in store for those who manage to find all 200 before the event concludes, which would be quite the achievement.
Spooky vehicles up for grabs
If you’re looking to expand your collection with Halloween-themed vehicles, a variety of them will be available during the event from two separate showrooms. Keep an eye on Premium Deluxe Motorsport and Luxury Autos to see if their offerings catch your fancy.
Earn up to triple rewards during Halloween events
This Halloween event brings increased incentives for partaking in various modes, offering up to triple GTA$ and RP for participating in specific game types such as Slasher, Condemned, and the Halloween Community Series. Be on the lookout for online and in-game announcements about the latest modes that will help boost your rewards.
