In Hello Kitty Island Adventure, there’s an array of outfits available, from casual overalls to eerie dresses. However, there may be times when the colors don’t quite match your preference. Luckily, Tuxedosam can help you dye your clothes.
This guide will walk you through the process of dyeing clothes. You won’t be able to access this feature from the beginning; there are several lengthy tasks to complete first. Don’t worry, we’ll outline what you need to do before getting started.
Requirements for Dyeing Clothes
Ready to change up your wardrobe? You’ll have to complete a quest called Tuxedosam’s Dye Upgrade that Tuxedosam offers once you achieve friendship level 5. After chatting with him, you’ll unlock this quest in your journal, but you may hit a few obstacles first.
If you see the quest name in gray with strikes through it in your journal, that means you need to finish a few additional tasks to get things started. Here’s what you need to complete:
- Open The Nature Preserve
- Re-Haunt The Spooky Swamp
- Comic Relief
Some of these tasks, like Comic Relief, come with their own requirements, which you can check by clicking on the quest in your journal.
How to Finish Tuxedosam’s Dye Upgrade Quest
This quest is quite straightforward. You simply need to find Badtz-maru and Kuromi, completing smaller quests for both.
Badtz-Maru
When you talk to Badtz-maru, he’ll reveal that the dye is in a chest next to him, but he needs something else to put in its place. You’ll need to visit My Melody and request a table from her. Once you have the table, return it to Badtz-maru.
After receiving the table, he will then unlock the chest, allowing you to acquire the dye.
Kuromi
Next, head over to Kuromi. She’ll inform you that the dye is also in a chest. Follow a Null into the swamp, as it will lead you straight to the chest. Once you reach the location, you can open it to get the dye.
Return to Tuxedosam
After collecting the dye from both Badtz-maru and Kuromi, return to Tuxedosam to wrap up the quest. He will provide you with several additional dye pouches and have a brief chat, but that’s all that’s required to finish up.
How to Dye Clothes
At last, you can dye your clothes! Visit the dye station in Tuxedosam’s shop, where you can view all the clothing eligible for dyeing. If you have enough dye available, you can go ahead and color the selected item.
How to Obtain More Dye
Once you finish the quest Reef Revival (with Hello Kitty at friendship level 11), you will gain access to the Recycling Plant. This facility allows you to recycle various trash items to receive goodies, including dye pouches.
This is an excellent way to acquire dye, so make sure to complete Reef Revival after reaching level 11 of friendship with Hello Kitty!
