Beginner's Guide: Memoriapolis Tips and Tricks Revealed

Memoriapolis is a unique game where you build a civilization with enduring qualities. Beginning in the ancient period, players navigate through four distinct eras, each introducing new gameplay rules. For instance, the political strategies effective in the first era may not yield the same results later on. As you construct cultural structures, you attract various factions, which adds to the game’s variability and replayability.

However, the gameplay extends beyond simply erecting buildings and managing resources; there are multiple fundamental aspects to grasp. Mastering these elements will provide you with a crucial competitive advantage. If you’re eager to dive in, we’ve gathered some helpful tips for beginners to ease your journey.

Note: Memoriapolis is currently in early access, and its features may evolve over time.

Plan Your City to Mitigate Conflicts

It’s essential to avoid random placement of structures; their types influence the development of your city significantly. Each building falls into a specific cultural category, and its appeal guides how districts will be organized. You’ll notice clusters forming based on their attraction. The characteristics of a district are shaped by the surrounding buildings.

For instance, if a district houses numerous religious buildings but lacks military ones, it will take on a more religious identity. It’s also important to note that the location of these buildings affects faction settlements. If opposing factions are placed too close, tensions can flare up. To prevent conflicts, it’s wise to distribute buildings representing different cultures widely. For instance, situate military facilities in the northern part of your city and political ones down south.

Prioritize Your Architectural Developments

When starting, resources can appear abundant, but gaining blueprints is critical for growth. Blueprints are necessary for unlocking new buildings and upgrading existing ones, and the Architectural Office is the only structure that produces these blueprints. Therefore, upgrading this office early should be your first step to maximize blueprint generation over time.

To further enhance your blueprint output, keep creativity satisfaction levels high—doing so increases blueprint production by 15%. Making this a priority will significantly boost your overall efficiency.

Location Matters for Agriculture

Food is a vital resource for your civilization, and running low can lead to severe challenges. Small Farms are the primary buildings for food production, but it’s the fields that actually generate food. When placing a farm, you can add between 0 to 12 fields—the more fields you choose, the higher the food output.

However, managing space is a concern as fields consume considerable area. To optimize your city layout, position farms farther from the central hub. Utilize a Surveyor’s Cabin to expand your buildable space and strategically relocate farms away from densely populated areas.

Understand and Manage Satisfaction Levels

Meeting your population’s satisfaction needs is crucial—failure to do so can lead to negative repercussions. Conversely, fulfilling these needs results in various benefits. Since it’s often impossible to address all satisfaction levels simultaneously, it’s vital to prioritize those with the most significant impact. Here’s how satisfaction levels affect your city:

Satisfaction Negative Effect
Health Increases food consumption without boosting other satisfaction levels.
Safety Leads to more incidents and decreases migration.
Belonging Reduces faction trust and tax rates.
Esteem Lowers resource production and shortens decree durations.
Creativity Cuts down on blueprint generation and cultural points.

Repair or Evolve Damaged Buildings After Advancing Eras

As you progress to a new era, challenges arise. You’ll need to select a new core location, resulting in all cultural buildings becoming damaged and unusable. You’ll then face a choice: either invest in repairs or focus on constructing new buildings. Alternatively, if you have the right blueprints, you can evolve damaged structures. However, some foresight is required to combine building types ahead of time.

Enhance Your Cultural Radiance

Cultural Radiance is key for unlocking bonuses beneficial to your progression. You can find this menu next to the Building Tree on your screen. Increasing it can be achieved by constructing new cultural and service buildings, along with other features. Over time, factions in your districts will generate culture points which can improve your city’s influence, thereby enhancing faction trust and lowering costs for unlocking Wonders.

Politics and Decrees for Temporary Gains

Manage your political landscape carefully, as it can provide essential temporary bonuses through decrees. You can select two decrees simultaneously, but starting with a Politician leader opens up more options. However, gaining your chosen decree isn’t guaranteed unless you use some culture points to influence the decision during the Antiquity era and increase your chances of success.

You also have the option to alter decree durations by spending gold coins, so managing resources effectively is essential to maintain a healthy coin supply.

Strategic Town Center Placement

Choosing the ideal location for your Town Center is critical, as it influences your resource availability significantly. While wood is usually abundant, limited access to stone, sand, and clay can pose serious issues later in the game. Placing your Town Center near water and mountains can give you better access to crucial resources.

Gain Advantages Through Trade Routes

Once you unlock the Macellum building, trade routes become accessible. Establishing these routes early on ensures a steady income of gold coins. Selling surplus resources can enhance your economy and act as a safety net during resource shortages. So, instead of erecting multiple Small Farms, consider upgrading your existing farms by procuring necessary resources through trade.

In summary, meticulous planning and strategic thinking will be essential as you navigate the challenges of Memoriapolis to create a thriving civilization.
