Top Chaos and Trails in Sonic Speed Simulator Revealed!

Roblox’s Sonic Speed Simulator takes you through familiar landscapes from Sonic’s history, where you collect Rings and level up to boost your speed.

To enhance your experience, you’ll discover a range of Chao and Trails that can improve your stats and provide unique advantages. With so many options available, you might wonder: which are the best choices?

Understanding Chao and Trails

Chao are adorable creatures, each with distinct colors and traits. In Sonic Speed Simulator, they function as companions that follow your character while running and offer bonuses to specific stats.

Similarly, Trails also provide stat enhancements, following you as you speed along.

You can equip up to three Chao at one time (or five with the +2 Pet Slots game pass) and one Trail.

Both Chao and Trails can be leveled up using Rings and Red Star Rings, reaching a maximum level of 25. Note that every fifth level requires a certain number of Red Star Rings, depending on the tier of the Chao or Trail.

What Are Stats?

Chao and Trails can boost up to three stats:

  • XP: Increases the amount of XP earned from Chaos Orbs.
  • Rings: Affects the ring value when collected from the ground.
  • Damage: Enhances your damage output against bosses and enemies.

While some Chao and Trails may only boost one or two of these stats, most mid-to-late game options typically improve all three to varying degrees.

Additionally, Chao and Trails can possess special bonus stats such as:

  • Magnet: Enables you to collect items from a greater distance.
  • Stamina: Allows for prolonged boosting.
  • Luck: Increases the chance of acquiring legendary Chao and Trails from Vending Machines.
  • Event: Enhances progress in events.
  • Air: Extends the duration you can stay underwater for non-robotic characters.

What Are Fast Friends?

Fast Friends provide an alternative to standard Chao by combining the best stats of all your Chao into a single pet. For instance, if one Chao offers +20 Rings and another +10 Rings, your Fast Friend will yield +20 Rings.

All of your Chao contribute to this system, making it crucial to hunt for the best stats for each type as bonus stats are not included.

Best Chao and Trails

Certain events unlock the most powerful Chao and Trails, available only for a limited time. After these events conclude, they can only be acquired through trades.

You’ll also find Vending Machines throughout the game, where you can spend Rings or Red Star Rings for a chance at random Chao or Trails. These machines remain accessible as long as you’ve unlocked their respective Worlds, providing a consistent way to acquire Chao and Trails, acting as free alternatives to top-tier options.

Note: The stats mentioned are for level 25 Fused Chao. You’ll need to collect five of the desired Chao, level them to 25, and then fuse them, followed by leveling the fused Chao to 25 again.

Best Chao and Trails for XP

When it comes to earning XP, the Metal Sonic 3.0 Omochao is the top Chao, offering +2.19 million XP. Originally available during the Metal Overlord Event for 299 Robux, it occasionally returns to the Robux shop.

If you’re looking for a free alternative, try the Horizon Chao that offers +1.3 million XP, accessible through a Vending Machine in Hill Top Zone.

The best Trail for XP is the Emerald Energy Trail, granting +6.82 million XP, acquired for free by completing a quest during the Super Sonic: Powering Up Event. The Chili Dog Trail, which provides +3.25 million XP, can likewise be found in a Vending Machine in Hill Top Zone.

Best Chao and Trails for Rings

To maximize your Ring collection, the Summer Sonic Chao is your best bet, enhancing your pickups by +243,462 Rings. It was available during the TMNT Crossover Event for 299 Robux. The Raider Chao, found in a Vending Machine in Hill Top Zone, offers +134,542 Rings as an alternative.

The leading Trail for Rings is the Silver Blur Trail, which gives you an extra +502,320 Rings. It was available for free during the Super Sonic: Silver’s Quest Event.

Best Chao and Trails for Damage

For boosting damage, the Knuckles Chao offers an impressive +8.7 million Damage and has been featured in various Knuckles-themed events. As an alternative, the Leek Chao provides +5.34 million Damage and can be acquired from Hill Top Zone’s Vending Machine.

The best Trail for damage is the Rainbow Star Trail, which adds +22.8 million Damage and was free post-quest during the Super Metal Overlord Event. Another option is the Gunpowder Trail, granting +19.95 million Damage, also earned through Captain Dread’s permanent Sonic Prime: Dread’s Event quest.

Overall Best Chao and Trails

Because individual Chao and Trails usually excel in just one characteristic, equipping them can be complicated. While XP and Damage are significant, Rings are generally deemed more beneficial. However, the bonus stats offered by some Chao and Trails can often take precedence.

In summary, here are some key recommendations:

  • Chili Dog Trail: The best option for free-to-play players, featuring a great balance of stats.
  • Gunpowder Trail: While its stats may not stand out, its +10 Magnet bonus can simplify gathering Rings and Chaos Orbs.
  • Silver Blur Trail: Offers the highest Ring stat while providing +10 Stamina for longer boosts.

For Chao, prioritize Fast Friends, as they can be upgraded to boost max stats beyond standard limits.

Recommended Fast Friends

  • Event Stat: Focus on Chao like Cheese and Chocola for significant event progress. Both are obtainable by completing permanent events in Green Hill.
  • Toy Robot Summer Sonic: A valuable Fast Friend with an impactful Event stat, allowing multiple acquisitions.
  • Fast Friends with Magnet or Stamina Stats: Fill your slots with Fast Friends offering these bonuses, focusing on Magnet primarily.

Overall, tailor your strategy based on what your build needs most, and keep an eye out for Chao with Luck bonuses to optimize your chances of acquiring specific items from Vending Machines.

By following this guide, you’ll be better equipped to navigate Sonic Speed Simulator’s vast world and make the most of your gameplay experience.
