Nasa and SpaceX are gearing up to bring three American astronauts and a Russian cosmonaut back from the International Space Station (ISS).
This Sunday, NASA’s Matthew Dominick, Michael Barratt, and Jeanette Epps will return home alongside Roscosmos cosmonaut Alexander Grebenkin, traveling in the same Crew Dragon capsule that transported them to the ISS back in March.
During their time in orbit, the crew engaged in extensive scientific research, focusing on various studies aimed at enhancing human health and well-being.
The astronauts shared their experiences with breathtaking photos and time-lapse videos, capturing their unique perspective while in space.
How to watch
Nasa is currently aiming for a 3:05 a.m. ET (12:05 a.m. PT) undocking of the Crew-8 mission from the space station on October 13. However, the agency is closely monitoring Hurricane Milton’s impact on the Florida peninsula and the nearby splashdown area, which may lead to rescheduling if necessary. An update on the weather is expected at 11 a.m. on Friday.

As the Crew Dragon gently separates from the ISS, it may appear to move slowly, but both the spacecraft and the station are traveling at an impressive speed of 17,500 mph as they orbit the Earth.
Nasa will also livestream the splashdown along the Florida coast, with details regarding the specific timing still to be determined.
